Hixon | Help Centre – New Mobile & Desktop App Now Available

We are excited to finally launch the brand-new Hixon – Help Centre experience.

Help Centre – Overview

We’ve taken the best of our in-house technology and mixed it with the power of a progressive web app. This means updates now become as seamless as visiting a normal website and we’re committed to delivering updates to you every week.

What is a progressive web app (PWA)?

A progressive web application is a type of application software delivered through the web, built using common web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is intended to work on any platform that uses a standards-compliant browser, including both desktop and mobile devices.

A progressive web app can be installed safely by the user outside of an Appstore (Google Play, iOS App Store, Microsoft Store) and allows developers to quickly update the contents without resubmission each time. The result is a seamless app upgrade without annoying updates to run and download.

In addition to the redesign, we have also added hundreds of useful product guides to ensure you get the most from the products and services we provide. Our team of technology specialists will keep adding more articles on a weekly basis to ensure content stays fresh and up to date.

New Features

Our brand-new desktop & mobile application has been completely redesigned allowing you to quickly alert us to any problems that have not already been identified and prevented by our proactive monitoring software.

In addition to the redesign, we have also added hundreds of useful product guides to ensure you get the most from the products and services we provide. Our team of technology specialists will keep adding more articles on a weekly basis to ensure content stays fresh and up to date.

We understand how important technology is to you and your business, we also understand how frustrating it can be when something doesn’t work as expected, so we have added a real time system status page that is updated as soon as we are aware of issues that may be impacting users from more than one organisation.

Finally, we know how important it is to be able to quickly report a problem and the new app does just that! All it takes is one click, and a description of your issue and a support ticket will be created for you.

Installation Guides

The new help centre application is available to download and install on a wide range of devices that support the progressive web application framework, these include:

Windows / OSX Devices

To install the Progressive Web App to your desktop using Chrome or Edge:

  • Open a web app in your preferred browser.
  • Click on an install button in the address bar.
  • Click Install.

iOS Devices

To install the Progressive Web App to your Mobile (iOS):

  • Open the help centre in your web browser (Safari)
  • Click on the arrow button (bottom centre)
  • Select add to home screen and click OK.

Android Devices

We offer two ways to install the new application on your android based mobile device.

Install the mobile app from the Google Play Store (Android):

  • Open the Google Play store and search for Hixon Group or Click Here.
  • Click the Install Button below the app overview.
  • Once downloaded you can open the app from the App Launcher or home screen.

To install the Progressive Web App to your Mobile (Android):

  • Open help centre in your browser (Android Chrome).
  • Open your browser’s settings.
  • Scroll down and tap Add to Home screen.
  • Confirm by tapping Add.

Latest Update: Major application update including bug fixes and performance improvements.

Following feedback received from users we have implemented a number of major changes in the latest update to the Help Centre.

This update is designed to improve and simplify navigation throughout the platform, this includes simplified categorisation of content and improvements to the Article contents module shown on articles.

Other changes include:

  • Network Status – Alerting you if your device is disconnected from the network / WiFi
  • Simple Categories – It’s the end of endlessly searching looking for answers.
  • Live Search – Powerful search makes it easy to find answers you’re looking for.
  • Faster Load – 4 x faster page load throughout the app
  • Feedback Improvements – Submit feedback easily so we can develop and refine articles to ensure they meet users needs.
  • Help Assistant – Providing a quick and convenient way of allowing visitors to interact with the app
